CAREERS OVERVIEW

Insolvency Services

Our commitment to our clients is the provision of effective services and solutions, tailored to meet their needs, delivered in a timely, straightforward way.

Getting to know and understand our clients and their businesses is fundamental to our philosophy of building long term relationships with our clients.

We aim to be the best independent accounting firm in Birmingham and to be known and acknowledged as such.

When we add players to the Heathcote and Coleman team, as well as academic and technical excellence, we look for down-to-earth, and enthusiastic people, who will share our passion and commitment to delivering the highest quality of client service.
  If you are committed to delivering excellent service and solutions;
If you want to excite your clients rather than satisfy them;
If you are enthusiastic about innovation;
You might enjoy being part of Heathcote & Coleman.

The emphasis is on the team. Prima donnas and ivory tower academics won't enjoy the experience.

Work here can be incredibly hectic and demanding, so it's important that along the way you enjoy yourself. Heathcote and Coleman has a sociable and fun atmosphere, with a strong emphasis on supporting each other.

So, working at Heathcote and Coleman is pretty much what you make it.

Training opportunities

Heathcote & Coleman offers outstanding training opportunities in accountancy for graduates and post A-level entrants wishing to pursue a career with the firm. We offer a three year training programme designed to prepare you for the examinations of the ICAEW or the ACCA. The programme is also designed to enhance your personal skills and knowledge through our mentor based staff development system.

We recruit trainees with a proven academic track record – minimum pre requisites are 22 UCAS points and a 2:2 degree (2:1 for relevant graduates) but we look for much more than just exam success in our potential trainees.

  We go to a lot of trouble to select our trainees. They have potential. They are valuable.

That doesn’t mean that they have an easy life. The training can be arduous and requires commitment. If you are successful, and join us as a trainee, your training will start on day one. We want to make sure that not only do you acquire appropriate knowledge and skills but you also get the opportunity to practise these skills in the working environment. From a very early stage you’ll be expected to contribute effectively to client assignments, and on the job coaching will enable you to do this.

In addition to practical experience, our excellent study package is carefully tailored to include high quality tuition and generous study leave. Alongside the professional training, you will attend relevant in house training and external professional education programmes.
